“Caffé dell’Arte” opened in 1967, amongst the elite centre of Modica, between Corso Umberto and Via Clemente Grimaldi, in one of the most picturesque corner of the city, in the very heart of the Ragusa province. Over the years, the town of Modica has become world-famous for the production of the Chocolate of Modica. The café was founded by Ignazio Iacono, who has started to work, from the beginning, with mastery and passion in order to combine Sicilian confectionery teachings with the specialities of Modica, such as the Chocolate, Mpanatigghie (well-known characteristic dessert made of minced beef, chocolate and almonds), Nucatoli, almond biscuits and the well-known cannoli filled with ricotta, custard or chocolate filling, always prepared on the spot. Iacono family runs the café inheriting the father’s passion. The café has been esteemed for decades by the citizens of Modica and, recently, also by tourists motivated by pleasing mentions on tourist guides and by the excellent reviews on the web. Everyone can have breakfast or enjoy a break with an excellent coffee or cappuccino, homemade sourdough brioches, cornetti, granita, ice creams, or a hand crafted hot chocolate of unforgettable taste.
